About the Guardsmen

Event proceeds directly support The Guardsmen General Fund for indoor and outdoor educational programs for at-risk youth. The Guardsmen is a service organization of San Francisco Bay area professional men that, since 1947, has devoted its efforts to providing disadvantaged youth an opportunity to participate in camping, educational, and other culturally enriching opportunities.

The Guardsmen strive to assist the Bay area youth who desire to attain the skills necessary to be productive members of society. The Guardsmen is one of the most financially efficient charities in the country with more than 95% of the money raised going directly to the programs it supports.

Through the Campership program, The Guardsmen provide financial support to allow approximately 3,000 children annually to attend summer camp and other summer programs. The Scholarship Funding program provides more than 200 annual independent school scholarships to enable underprivileged youth a choice in their education.

The Guardsmen is a volunteer organization that receives no state or federal assistance and is not affiliated with any professional fund-raising organization. All members of The Guardsmen volunteer their time to provide children an opportunity to experience life outside the inner city. The members receive no compensation for their services. Our support comes from donor contributions and special event attendees like you.
