The Guardsmen Tour is a breath-taking fun-filled journey starting at Crissy Field, across the Golden Gate Bridge, up through Marin County and back across some of Northern California’s most precious and popular cycling routes.

The event is a Fund Raiser to enhance and improve the lives of at-risk youth. The proceeds from this event will benefit The Guardsmen, who annually send 2,500 kids to outdoor education programs and provide scholarship support to more than 250 students at Bay Area private schools.

The success of the Guardsmen Tour is defined by the level of fundraising done by the individual supporters and participants. Your fundraising efforts start with a $55.00 entry fee (on registration page) and a minimum requirement to raise $150.00 through your individual fundraising page. Last year, Dan Wheeler, the GTour's highest fundraiser, raised over $6,000 and won a 2010 Marin Stelvio Dura Ace road bike, valued at over $5,000. Riders can choose between three different rides:

• 100 Miles (Century)
• 62 Miles (Metric Century)
• 20 Miles (Campership Ride)

FREE Velo Training at VeloSF. Every Friday at 7am before the race with Tour registration.

There is no excuse! Blazing Saddles will be on site so you can rent a bike and join in the fun!!!

• Get a BOOST on your fitness and receive a complimentary two week trial at VeloSF with your registration.
• The top 50% of Fundraisers will have the opportunity to win lots of great prizes including a cruiser from Electra Bikes.
• The Top Fundraiser will receive a top-of-the-line Carbon Fiber Mountain Bike from Marin Bikes.

All courses are fully supported and include rest stops, sag wagons, first-aid, and on-course monitors. All three rides will start at Crissy Field in the Presidio just off Doyle Drive and in front of Planet Granite and Roaring Mouse Cycles.

It's because of your fundraising efforts that The Guardsmen have been so successful supporting young men and women since 1947. Prizes and awards will be provided for top fundraisers at the end of the ride. Food and entertainment will be provided, a fun fair-like environment with plenty to do for families while the riders recover. We look forward to seeing you on September 24th!!!
